Possible to download linkedin video as high quality on a PC?

Hi everyone, I really need some help. I am not very tech-savvy and I urgently need to download a couple of videos from LinkedIn for offline viewing. I tried looking around the site but I don’t see any download button anywhere.

Is there an easy and safe way to save or download LinkedIn video high quality to my computer? I honestly don't know much about LinkedIn video downloading, so any beginner-friendly tips, tools, or step-by-step instructions would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance!

For users who need to download videos frequently from many different websites, a dedicated linkedin video downloader software is the most powerful option.

  • You can take advantage of browser extension for LinkedIn video download. This is the easiest and most user-friendly.  Browser extensions add a download button directly to the video player.

    Step-by-Step Guide:

    1. Choose and Install an Extension: Go to your browser's extension store (Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, etc.). Search for a reputable video downloader. Popular options include:

    2. Navigate to the Video: Go to the LinkedIn post with the video and play it.

    3. Use the Extension: The extension's icon in your browser's toolbar will usually become active (e.g., change color or animate). Click on the extension icon, and it will show you a list of detectable videos on the page, including the LinkedIn video.

    4. Download LinkedIn Video: Select the correct video quality (if available) and click the download button. The video will be saved to your default downloads folder.

Pros: Very easy and fast, one-click download after setup.

Cons: Requires installing a third-party extension, which can sometimes access your browsing data (choose a reputable one). Extensions may break if LinkedIn updates its website.

Why not browser Source Code Inspection if you are going to download LinkedIn vide? This method is less reliable than the Network tab but can be quicker if it works.

    1. Open the Video: Go to the LinkedIn post and start playing the video.
    2. View Page Source: Right-click on the page (but not directly on the video) and select "View page source".
    3. Search for the Video URL:
Press Ctrl+F to open the find/search box.
Search for keywords like mp4, videoUrl, src, or .com/video/.
    4. Carefully scroll through the results. You are looking for a full URL that ends in .mp4. It will often be long and contain "cdn" (Content Delivery Network).
    5. Download LinkedIn video: Once you find a clear .mp4 URL, copy it, paste it into a new browser tab, and press Enter. The video should start playing or downloading. You can then right-click and "Save video as...".

SaveFrom, net is a popular online tool that allows you to download videos from various platforms by simply pasting the video URL. However, it's important to note that LinkedIn videos are often protected or embedded in ways that can make direct downloading via SaveFrom unreliable or ineffective.

If you do want to download LinkedIn videos, SaveFrom, net and similar services often work by:

    • You paste the LinkedIn video URL
    • Their service fetches and provides download links
    • You download the video file

If SaveFrom, net doesn’t work, using screen recording (like OBS Studio or Xbox Game Bar) is usually more reliable. Or, look for dedicated LinkedIn video download tools or browser extensions designed specifically for that purpose.

Using OBS Studio to record a LinkedIn video is a great free and safe method, especially if online downloaders don't work or don't offer high quality. Here's a simple step-by-step guide on how to download LinkedIn video:

Step 1: Download and install the program by following the on-screen instructions.
Step 2: Open OBS Studio and create a new scene:

    • In the "Scenes" box at the bottom, click the "+" button.
    • Name it something like "LinkedIn Recording" and click OK.

Step 3: Add a Display Capture:

    • In the "Sources" box, click the "+" button.
    • Select Display Capture.
    • Name it, then click OK.
    • Choose your monitor if you have multiple screens.
    • Click OK.

    Step 4: Record the Video

    • Open the LinkedIn video in your browser and maximize it for full-screen viewing.
    • Go back to OBS and click "Start Recording".
    • Play the video on LinkedIn.
    • When the video finishes, go back to OBS and click "Stop Recording".

    Step 5: Download LinkedIn video

    • The video will be saved in the folder you specified in the settings.
    • Play it to ensure quality and completeness.

Use the Inspect feature of browser Developer Tools. This is the most common and completely free method. It works by finding the direct video file URL hidden in the webpage's code.

How to download linkedin videos to a PC

    1. Navigate to the LinkedIn post containing the video and play it for a few seconds to ensure it's loaded.

    2. Right-click anywhere on the video and select "Inspect" or "Inspect Element".

    3. In the Developer Tools window that opens, click on the "Network" tab.

    4. In the "Network" tab, you'll see a lot of activity. Click on the filter icon (a funnel) and type media in the filter box. This will show only media files like videos and audio.

    5. Now, refresh the webpage (press F5) while the Developer Tools are open and on the "Network" tab. The video will start playing again, and you should see a file appear in the list. It will often be the largest file.

    6. Right-click on that file name and select "Open in new tab". The video will now open in a new browser tab by itself, without any LinkedIn interface.

    7. Simply right-click on the video in this new tab and select "Save video as..." to download this LinkedIn video to your computer.

This is a completely free way to do that without any LinkedIn video downloader.
