Open office problem repairing/recovering lock files

The .~lock.... .odt# files are lock files indicating the document was open or being edited.
These files are not the actual document content but signals for recovery.
When OpenOffice crashes or is closed improperly, it may not automatically display the recovery dialog, especially if it detects lock files or if it considers the session closed.
