I just wanted to let anyone know that turning off Kernel DMA Protection in the BIOS worked for me. I've been frustrated for months trying to get the latest update to run. I tried everything until I ran across this fix. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme 2nd Gen.
