Using a Video Editor to convert WAV to MP3 can be possible, depending on the software you have. Some free Windows video editors support audio extraction or format conversion. Here's a general idea:
- Check if your Video Editor supports exporting audio as MP3. If it does, you can import the WAV file into the editor.
- Import the WAV file into your project.
- Export or Save the audio as MP3 if the option is available.
Steps:
- Open the "Video Editor" app (search for it in the Start Menu).
- Create a "New video project".
- Add your WAV file to the project library.
- Drag the WAV file down to the storyboard.
- Click "Finish video" in the top-right.
- Under "Video quality", choose a profile (e.g., "720p" is fine).
- Click "Export". The resulting MP4 video file will have a video track (probably a blank or colored screen) and your audio converted to a compressed AAC track, which is very similar to MP3. You can then use an online tool to extract the audio if needed, but for many purposes, this compressed file is much smaller than the original WAV.
