My mic randomly got very quiet and very static

So all of a sudden my microphone got very quiet, I'll try to give as much detail as possible. So I believe it started when one morning I turned on my pc and the software I use for my mic seemed like it stopped working. So I uninstalled it completely along with it's drivers. So I believe it started before I deleted it but maybe it started after I can't exactly remember. I have tried updating/reinstalling all my sound drivers. I have contacted microsoft support twice and they couldn't fix it. They also gave me some sort of file that reinstalls windows but keeps my files, and that also didn't work. I am completely stumped and just reinstalled windows deleting all my files around a month ago so I would really like not to reinstall again. Also I tried my mic on another computer and it's totally fine. I tried different USB ports in my computer and it also didn't help. I also tried another microphone on the pc with issues and it's a bad mic so I can't quite tell if it's also static or just very bad. So that's everything and I'm stumped, I'm hoping there is a fix for this because I'm scared that worst comes to worst I re install windows again and the problem doesn't resolve.

Thanks in advance,

Liam

  • Have you tried to download and install latest version of drivers from OEM's website?

Little_Joe Just installed the drivers, it instantly improved the quality prior to me even having this issue and it totally fixed the issue itself, honestly don't know why I didn't think of this myself, but I really do appreciate the help. Thank you

Little_Joe I am not sure how to do this, I searched for eom drivers and they are all different, eomdrivers.com says "No malware, just drivers" which is very weird

Update: found out that's the abbreviation, not the drivers name, I'll try installing them right now.

Is this microphone connect with USB?
Have you tried running Windows Update and download and install all updates?
Have you tried updating all drivers from your device's manufacturer website?
