MS Edge problem

Whenever i clear the browser history the pop up window does not close.

The browser still works and history is cleared but the only way to get rid of the pop up is to close the settings tab.

Am sure it used to close once you clicked clear and it did its thing.

Anyone got any ideas what may have gone wrong. have done virus and malware scans.
