Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (V1)/Windows 11

Hello

I have a Windows 11 PC and I just noticed that I cannot connect/stream to my Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (V1) plugged into a TV

The wifi is activated, I see the wireless display adapt in the taskbar but once I click on it it runs in a loop and on the TV nothing happens

On a Pixel 7 smartphone running Android 14, same observation in Caster I don't even see the adapter

However, I still have an old Surface 3 (2015) tablet running Windows 10 and no connection problems there

Same observation on a Huaweï P20 Lite Android smartphone running Android 9, it works very well

Hence my conclusion, would the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (V1) be obsolete on new devices equipped with the latest operating systems?

Your observation suggests that the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (V1) may be experiencing compatibility issues with your new Windows 11 PC and Android 14 smartphone, especially since it still works well with older devices like your Surface 3 and Android 9 device. While the adapter itself isn't necessarily obsolete, newer operating systems and hardware updates can sometimes introduce compatibility challenges.

Given the issues on Windows 11 but not on an older version, it might be worth checking if there are any known compatibility issues with your version of Windows 11.

Your observation suggests that the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (V1) may indeed have compatibility issues with newer devices running Windows 11 and Android 14, especially since it works seamlessly with older hardware like your Surface 3 and your Huawei P20 Lite.
