micophone set up not working

got the windows 11 insider update Friday morning, all went well with the update. (Windows 11 is 😎) once i finished setting it up i wanted to use Cortana but i microphone would not work. found the microphone  settings and tried to "Set it up" it automatically ran the troubleshooting software. the troubleshooting process said it fixed a couple of things.......but nothing ever changed. it still say the mic needs to be set up. HELP!!!! please and thank you everyone.
