Long windows 11 shutdown times

My main rig signature below, is a Ryzen 5 2600X, Gigabyte DS3H 450M, 32gb ddr4 3000 memory and a 512gb sata ssd, takes maybe 1-1.5 minutes to shut down. I would say no big deal. Recently, I saw a deal on a Ryzen 7 5800x on sale, so I took advantage of this and replaced the cpu as well as installing 32 ddr4 3200 memory. A simple remove and replace and altough my computer is faster, it takes even longer to shutdown, sometimes about 5 minutes before the computer to shut itself off. is there a reason why it is doing this and how can I address this issue?

  • 1. New system and drivers: Make sure Windows 11 and all hardware drivers are up to date. Microsoft often fixes known issues with updates.
    2. Turn off Fast Startup: Open Control Panel > Power Options.
Click on “Select Power Button Functions”.
Click on “Change settings that are not currently available”.
    Uncheck “Enable Fast Startup
Save the changes and restart your computer.
Check for background programs: Close unnecessary background programs and services that may delay the shutdown process.
    3. Check for disk errors: Open a command prompt (with administrator privileges).
Type chkdsk /f /r and press Enter.
You will be prompted to check the disk on the next reboot, type Y to confirm.
    4. View Event Viewer: Open Event Viewer (you can search for it in the Start Menu).
Look for errors or warnings in Windows Logs > System to find out what may be causing the delayed shutdown.
    Disable unnecessary startup items:
Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
    Switch to the Startup tab.
    Disable unnecessary startup items.
    5. Run System File Checker: Open a command prompt (with administrator privileges).
Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
Wait for the scan and repair to complete.
