keep getting error when installing W11
Hey, I ran into something similar a while ago while installing Windows 11 Insider builds — here are a few things that helped in my case:
- Secure Boot and TPM: Even if your system supports it, double-check that both are actually enabled in BIOS/UEFI. Sometimes they're supported but disabled by default.
- Disk Format: Make sure your drive is using GPT, not MBR. Windows 11 needs GPT when installing via UEFI boot.
- Error Code: If you're seeing a specific error code, post it here — it can help figure out whether it's a driver, update, or hardware issue.
- Disconnect Peripherals: Try unplugging extra USB devices, external drives, or dongles. Some installs fail because of random connected hardware.
- UUP Dump: If Insider builds won’t install through regular updates, you can use uupdump.net to create a custom ISO. It's community-supported and helped me bypass a failed update loop once.
Also, are you upgrading from Windows 10 or doing a clean install? That makes a difference too.
Hope this helps — let us know how it goes!
Thanks for you time and reply. I checked it all, and it seems to be o.k.
I was trying to upgrade from windows 10.
Now i downloaded a boot-install for usb (win11), and i bought a new SSD. Will try that, that must do :-)
Thanks so far!
