KB5055528 Breaking Start Menu and Search Button in Taskbar
We are testing April 2025 update KB5055528 right now and it seems to break the Start menu and Search icon. Clicking either button does nothing, no window flies open (this includes hotkeys like pressing the Windows key). We have a case open with MSFT Support but wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
You can see Event ID 1000 in the Application Event log and corresponding events in Intune Endpoint Analytics whenever the user manually clicks the button or some process triggers a search function.
Thanks

Since you already have a case open with Microsoft Support, continue to collaborate with them, providing evidence of any findings you come across, including Event Viewer logs or any other pertinent error messages. They might be able to look into whether this is a widespread issue and provide a hotfix or solution.

Sometimes, Microsoft releases follow-up patches to fix issues introduced by previous updates. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for any additional updates that may remedy the situation.
