Issues with Copilot Supposedly after Edge update
Hi everyone,
Since last night I’ve been having trouble with MS Copilot on the web (using Edge on Windows 11). The problems seemed to start right after Edge updated and walked me through the “getting started” prompts.
Here’s what I’ve noticed:
- When I try to upload a document, a pop‑up asks me to sign in (even though I’m already signed in with my Outlook account). Neither “Sign in” nor “Maybe later” does anything.
- As a workaround, I pasted content directly into the chat box. Copilot produced an output, but it opened in a split pane that looked like a word processor. The chat window was squeezed to the right, and I couldn’t close the pane without restarting the browser.
- Restarting cleared the pane but also erased my conversations. I know Copilot doesn’t always retrieve disrupted chats, but until now, I’ve usually been able to recall past conversations by asking it to keep memory.
- Overall, the look and feel of Copilot seemed to change suddenly, and I couldn’t find any option to revert it.
- Frequent disconnections (This can be attributed to network connection, I am using my home Internet), but if it were, it was not mine. My home network and Internet were just fine.
I’m not sure if things are back to normal yet. As a devoted Copilot user, I rely on it daily, and this disruption has been frustrating. I also use ChatGPT, but Copilot is my primary tool since I can’t afford extended sessions elsewhere due to steep subscription costs.
I couldn’t find an existing thread on this issue — is anyone else experiencing the same thing after the Edge update?
Thanks,
Moris

Oh! Since I can’t edit my original post, I wanted to add one more point:
I also tried using the Copilot app on my Windows computer, and honestly, it was another nightmare. It crashed frequently and forgot every single conversation I had. That said, it might still be a slightly better option than Copilot Web, depending on the situation.
Of course, there was troubleshooting involved, but I’ve skipped that here to stay focused on the symptoms I experienced. I just wanted to share this in case anyone was thinking of recommending the Copilot app on Windows as an alternative.
Thx
