Is There a Windows 11 Alternative to the Classic Black Viper Services List?
I'm not an expert on Windows 11 Services by any means. The complex and often unclear descriptions provided by Microsoft, along with the ominous warnings about potential issues, make me hesitant to dive into adjusting services without proper knowledge.
However, my curiosity was piqued while monitoring the resource usage today. I decided to explore the services list, mainly focusing on identifying Manual services that were running. The sheer number of Automatic and Manual services active on this basic Windows PC was surprising. Some examples include:
- CNG Key Isolation
- Display Enhancement
- HV Host (I've never had the need for a virtual machine)
- Microsoft Store Install (I don't recall installing anything from the MS Store)
- Radio Management
- Report Access Connection Manager
There are many other services with names and descriptions that are difficult to decipher. While I don't want to make any drastic changes, it does seem logical to disable any specialized services that the system doesn't require or utilize. Is there a comprehensive list of Windows 11 services available, accompanied by straightforward descriptions in plain English to understand their functions better?
