  5. Historical colouration tampering: Employing hues incompatible with the photograph's era undermines historical authenticity.

The core principle of enhance old pictures especially vintage ones lies in achieving natural, subtle refinement that preserves the image's original period character and the subjects' expressions. Poor enhancement, conversely, often involves excessive retouching, which renders the photos look like generic contemporary digital images while sacrificing fine details and the unique charm inherent to aged prints.
