Is it safe to remove DriveFS from Google Drive?

I'm nearly out of storage space and need to free up some room. I've discovered a folder within the Google Drive that's occupying nearly 12GB of space. Can I safely delete this folder? Additionally, inside the DriveFS folder, there is another sub-folder labeled with a number.

The DriveFS folder is a system folder used by Google Drive for Desktop (Backup and Sync or Drive for Desktop) to sync files between your PC and Google Drive.

Fully quit drive first by clicking the ^ on taskbar, right click the Google Drive logo and click Quit, Exit or whatever it shows there.

DriveFS is a cache folder for Google Drive. Deleting it will not affect your cloud files, but it will clear the local offline cache. You can safely delete it to free up space.
