  • You are running an Insider Preview evaluation build whose flight certificate expired on August 11, and Windows Update is no longer offering a usable path forward. Microsoft notes that outdated Insider builds can stop receiving flights and may require a clean installation. Back up your files and save the BitLocker recovery key first. Open Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program and confirm that the Microsoft account and channel are correctly registered, then check for updates after restarting. If a newer build appears, install it while connected to power. If no flight is offered, use a current Microsoft Insider ISO matching your architecture and edition; start Setup from Windows only if it offers to keep your files and apps. Otherwise, create installation media and clean-install a current Insider build or a supported public Windows 11 release. An expired build cannot be renewed by changing the date or product key.
