When you switch users, Windows doesn't log off the first user. Instead, it keeps all their programs and open files running in the background while it loads the second user's profile. This process is resource-intensive.
Please reduce startup programs. This helps the second user's desktop become usable much faster.
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
- Go to the Startup tab.
- For both users, disable any programs that are not essential to have running immediately upon login.
- Right-click and select Disable.
