I AM NOT ABLE TO INSTALL Windows 11, version 22H2 Insider Preview 10.0.22572.100 (ni_release)
- Mar 18, 2022I got the solution, Just Reset The PC, with keeping your files
My windows license will expire soon, and I checked for windows update but Windows 11, version 22H2 Insider Preview 10.0.22581.200 (ni_release) is not downloading. It stops after 10% and says "There were problems downloading some updates, but we’ll try again later. If you keep seeing this, try searching the web or contacting support for help. This error code might help: (0xc8000402)". I really don't know what to do. I can afford to have my windows license expired.
- Divine_OgeApr 06, 2022Copper ContributorThanks. I don't know how but the windows got updated. It still says that my windows license is about to expire.
- MikeSapienzaMar 31, 2022Copper ContributorThis may mean that you have corrupted system files or drivers on your system.
If that doesn't work, I would try doing an in-place upgrade if possible.
I am also attaching an article with additional information about this issue. It uses Windows 10 as the example, but it should be fairly similar to Windows 11. If what the MS answers page didn't help, try checking the health of your storage devices as there may be errors in the Windows files on your main drive. You can also try resetting the Windows Update components.
Let me know if this helps!
https://windowsreport.com/wof-driver-encountered-corruption/ - gernerttlMar 31, 2022Brass ContributorOk. I made a little headway.
I ran the following command in an elevated terminal window:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
It returned the following error:
Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.22572.1
Image Version: 10.0.22572.201
[===========================54.4% ]
Error: 4448
The WOF driver encountered a corruption in the compressed file's Resource Table.
The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log
This supposedly is the process for fixing it.

Divine_Oge If you're on Windows 11, you may be able to activate it by going to the devices page on your MS account and select a machine that you may no longer use that is running Windows 10 and select the option that allows you to identify your machine as that old one. That should still be possible unless MS revoked that ability.
Another option is to install an older version of Windows 10 and use an old Windows 7 or Windows 8 product key. It is still possible to activate older versions of Windows 10 with the old keys, provided that you haven't used them too many times. You then may be able to reinstall Windows 11 from there as an upgrade from Windows 10.
I know that it would be a PITA to take the second option, but that may be the only way you can keep the license active. If this is a matter of Home vs. Pro, option 2 would work out best if you have any old Windows 7/8 Pro keys that you can use for Windows 10.
I hope this helps!
