- I got the solution, Just Reset The PC, with keeping your files

- colonialboiCopper ContributorI am recieving the same issue, and the idea of reseting my computer, with keeping my files, because it will still be atleast a day or two to get my computer back to the way it would need to be. Updates should just be opperational from the beginning.
Is there a reason that updates with this many people having an issue even get released? Like, shouldn't they be tested 1st? - cherylb2022Copper Contributor
SOLVED!!! (for me at least). I have had repeated upgrade fails, and after reading through all of the replies, I decided to unplug all USB drives before doing the restart. This ***finally*** worked for me. I didn't have to change any disk settings or anything---I simply unplugged all my external drives that were connected via USB (E:, F:, G:, etc.) and voila! I'm finally upgraded to v22632.1. Woof.
- Connorr981Copper ContributorI also encountered this problem, does anyone know how to solve it?

VEDIKSAGA I am having the same issue on my Dell Precision 5750 with an Intel Xeon W-10885M. It downloads, then installs, and on the reboot it fails. Not sure what to do. I take it there has not been any response from MS Tech. I'd love to figure this out.

Windows 11, version 22H2 Insider Preview 10.0.22581.200 (ni_release)
Failed on my system 6 times. I followed advice to unconect the most of usb devices. Also tried file checks like sfc. Same result: GSoD. Stopcode: APC_Index_Mismatch.
My previous Win11 is restored. Hope Microsoft can resolve this problem.

I was able to install it, and it crashed my computer to the point of having the diagnosis being my hard drive, and the fan and the wifi drives were unable to be accessed; to state, it is not connected because of non-proper model parts.
After a tense 30 minutes, I was able to uninstall the featured update, and my computer was back to normal, so my advice do not try and attempt to install it; wait for the next update
the error code I finally got was to do with the Microsoft store tile, which seems to be a constant problem.
hope this will help
Larry
p.s this is with the latest release 10.0.22581.200(ni_release)
- gernerttlBrass ContributorThanks. I am contemplating doing a reset. I will hold off for the next drop. What you described with it related to the Microsoft Store makes sense. I've been having a problem with the Microsoft Store too. Certain apps are not updating and when I uninstalled them, they would not reinstall.
- eraj2009Copper ContributorPlease mention your device model

It look like not everyone really understand the meaning of insider preview ... one of it is it's not bug free updates ...
