How to unlock android phone without passcode
HI, desperate phone idiot here.
Accidentally changed my passcode while half-asleep and now I'm totally locked out. It's a Samsung Galaxy S24, not rooted, running Android 15. I don't have any unlock patterns or PINs set up as a backup, and I'm kicking myself for it. Really need to get into the device to recover some important photos and documents.
I’ve already tried the basic stuff like rebooting and using my Google password with "Forgot Pattern" after too many attempts, but it's not giving me the option. I'm seeing some sketchy tutorials online about using ADB or factory resets, but not super technical and terrified of wiping everything. Does anyone know a legit method to unlock Android phone without passcode?
Thanks in advance for any real help. I'll take any suggestions, but please only tried-and-true advice.

Using Safe Mode to bypass an Android lock screen is sometimes possible, but it depends on the specific device, Android (Samsung)version, and how the lock screen is configured.
Can Safe Mode be used to unlock Android phone without passcode?
In some cases, if a third-party lock screen app is causing the lock, booting into Safe Mode might allow you to access your device without entering the passcode. However, if the device uses the built-in Android lock screen (PIN, password, pattern), Safe Mode alone will not bypass the lock screen.
How to attempt Safe Mode bypass:
- Power off your device.
- Press and hold the power button.
- When the device logo appears, release the power button, then press and hold the volume down button.
- Keep holding until the device boots up; you should see "Safe Mode" displayed.
Try to access your device.
Important:

Using ADB (Android Debug Bridge) to unlock Android phone without the passcode is a technical method that may work only if certain conditions are met, such as USB debugging being enabled on the device beforehand. Here's an overview:
Prerequisites:
USB debugging must be enabled on the device before it was locked.
The device must be connected to a computer via USB.
You need to have ADB installed on your computer.Limitations:
If USB debugging is not enabled, this method will not work.
It requires the device to be connected and recognized by your computer.General steps to unlock Android phone without the passcode:
1. Connect your device to your computer via USB.
2. Open a command prompt or terminal window.
3. Enter adb devices to ensure your device is detected.
4. Use ADB commands to remove or reset the lock screen, such as:adb shell rm /data/system/gesture.key
or
adb shell rm /data/system/password.key
5. Reboot your device:
adb reboot
6. The device may now be unlocked, but this method may not work on all devices, especially newer ones with security enhancements.

To unlock Android phone without passcode. Smart Lock is a legitimate and powerful method for unlocking a forgotten passcode, but only if you had set it up in advance. It is not a magic bypass; it's a feature you must have intentionally configured to allow specific conditions to keep your phone unlocked.
If you are locked out now, checking for active Smart Lock connections is absolutely worth a few minutes of your time, as it could provide an instant, non-destructive solution.
1. First, Rule Out a Reboot: Think back. Did you restart or power off your phone after getting locked out? If yes, Smart Lock will not work, and you should move to other methods.
2. If No Recent Reboot: Spend the next 5-10 minutes systematically trying the triggers above:
- Carry the phone around your house.
- Ensure you're connected to your home Wi-Fi.
- Put on your smartwatch and hold the phone close.
3. If It Works: Once in, immediately back up your data and go to Settings > Security > Smart Lock to review your settings and set up a backup unlock method.
If Smart Lock doesn't unlock Android phone without passcode, it confirms it was either not set up or disabled by a reboot. At this point, your only non-destructive options are the official remote unlock services.

Your situation is actually more recoverable than you might think, especially with a Samsung device. Here's a step-by-step guide that you can unlock Android phone without passcode:
You need to use a computer or another mobile device. The prerequisite is that "Find My Device" was already enabled on your S24 before it got locked (it is often enabled by default when you add a Google account).
1. Go to the official Google Find My Device website.
2. Sign in with the primary Google account that is linked to your locked Samsung Galaxy S24. Enter your Gmail address and its corresponding password.
3. If your device appears in the list and is online, select it.
4. Look for and click the "Lock" or "Secure Device" option (not "Erase").
5. You will be prompted to enter and confirm a new temporary password. Set one and confirm the command.
6. Wait a few moments, then try using this new temporary password directly on your S24's lock screen.
