How to speed up macbook air as it is very slow
Every time you see a menu fade in instead of appearing instantly, that is your MacBook Pro spending a fraction of a second on eye candy. Every time you see a window shrink into the Dock instead of vanishing immediately, that is another fraction of a second. Individually, these moments are tiny. But over the course of a day, with hundreds of menus opened and windows closed, the accumulated delay makes your Mac feel slow and laggy.
How to turn them off for speed up Macbook Pro?
You only need to do this once, and the changes take effect immediately without a restart.
Step 1: Reduce Transparency
- Open System Settings (Apple menu > System Settings)
- Click Accessibility in the left sidebar
- Click Display on the right side
- Turn on the switch labeled "Reduce Transparency"
Once enabled, menus, windows, and the menu bar will become solid and opaque instead of translucent. The system no longer has to blend background content, freeing up graphics processing power for actual work.
Step 2: Reduce Motion
- Stay in System Settings > Accessibility > Display
- Turn on the switch labeled "Reduce Motion"
To speed up Macbook Pro, all animations are replaced with simple fade effects or instant transitions. Mission Control no longer zooms and flies. Switching between desktops no longer slides. Minimizing windows no longer performs a shrinking genie effect. Everything simply appears and disappears.
