How to Screen Record on a Dell Laptop with Windows 10/11 OS

I won't use the built-in screen recording tool as it only has some basic functions. You need advanced features for recording professional videos. I am using this one and works great on my Windows 11 PC:

It supports lossless 8K/4K image quality and comes with a handy editing tool. So you can make some editing for the recorded videos.
On a Dell laptop with Windows 10 or 11, you don’t need extra software — the system already comes with Xbox Game Bar and Snipping Tool with video capture (Win11 22H2+). Here’s how you can handle your questions without third-party tools:
1. Record the entire screen
Xbox Game Bar (Win+G): By default it records only one window (like a game or app), not the full desktop or File Explorer.
Snipping Tool (Windows 11, latest updates): Open it → select the Record tab → choose New → drag to select the whole screen area. That way you get a full-screen recording.
2. Record both system audio & microphone
In Game Bar, press Win+Alt+M to toggle microphone, and it will capture both system audio + mic at the same time.
In Snipping Tool (Win11), you can select microphone input in the toolbar before starting the recording. System sounds are also captured.
