How to resolve the issue of the Windows 11 January update repeatedly failing?
The January cumulative update keeps failing to install. I have tried using the troubleshooter and clearing the update cache, but the issue persists. Are there any known fixes or troubleshooting directions?

Hi,
To better understand the issue, could you share a screenshot of the error and specify the KB number involved?
Depending on the situation, a few approaches are possible:
- waiting for the next cumulative update (if this is a known issue on Microsoft’s side),
- or resetting the local Windows Update components (SoftwareDistribution + Catroot2), which often resolves persistent update failures.
With the KB number and the exact error code, we’ll be able to guide you more precisely.
Hello,
Try installing the failed update manually, see if it helps:

Manually download the failed update package from the Microsoft Update Catalogue website and run the installation as an administrator.
