How to add a password to a file using Libre0ffice? You can follow these steps:
For a Document (e.g., .odt, .docx, .xlsx, etc.):
1. Open Libre0ffice.
2. Open your file:
Click File > Open and select your document.
3. Save as a new file with password protection:
Click File > Save As.
4. Set password protection:
In the Save As dialog, check the box labeled Save with password (or in some versions, you'll see a Set Password button).
5. Enter your password:
A prompt will appear asking you to enter a password.
Type your desired password and confirm it.
6. Save the file:
Choose the location and click Save.
Notes:
- The password will be required to open the saved file.
- This method works for Libre0ffice-native formats and some Microsoft Office formats.
- For PDF files, Libre0ffice can export as PDF with password protection via Export as PDF:
- File > Export As > Export as PDF.
- In the dialog, check Set password and add a password to a file.
