How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

I installed Windows 11. The first thing I did after installing it was go to set up my taskbar the way I need it. The ungroup button wasn't there. After a bit of googling, I found it wasn't supported by Windows 11.
I immediately went back to Windows 10 and will stay there until I can multitask.
Could you really imagine someone using the computer with 3 excel docs, VS Code, 5 Chrome tabs, SQL server and a few other apps trying to use a combined taskbar?
I bet none of the devs that built Windows 11 ever had 'combine tasks' enabled.
- kavahoxIron ContributorUnless they were on Mac... 🙂
- JLColvardCopper ContributorI agree with all of the complaints. Coming from a person that can have as many as 10-12 worksheets open at any given time, this kills productivity! Add it back!
- chengcjCopper ContributorBring back never combine taskbar feature please!!!

It's so upsetting to lose this setting. Here is what my taskbar looks like with Windows 11 - 1920px wide and only 1 10x10px square to hold all my chrome tabs.Windows 11 Taskbar
- mffapCopper ContributorThis really needs to come back. In general I dislike Win11 for many small UX decisions, but this one really bothers me.

Everyone, there is some great news that it seems that they will bring back never combine soon, it seems they have brought a lot of new features like the preview in file explorer, it seems a lot of feedback are getting implemented also pinned apps in the start menu.
To file feedback, click the search box in Windows 10 or 11, sign in to your account, use the search button in the app and look up never combine icons, click upvote on every one you see 🙂
It seems 2022 is a bright year for Windows
have a wonderful day!

- Jose_AlemanyCopper ContributorHow is possible Microsoft reduce options instead of adding? Windows is going to become an entertainment platforms like Apple, For professional people combining icons. reduced start menus, task manager disappearance, and many other cuts are just unproductive. I still use the windows 7 menu as it the most efficient of all. Please Microsoft, Come back to your origins.
- RolzzzzCopper Contributoryeah pretty dumb... didn't you have any focus groups that wanted it? probably not, you put all ur bug testing to windows insiders these days...
Feedback hub updated as well.
