How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

- Dasman24Brass ContributorI so regret upgrading to Windows 11 now... This is so unproductive! It's like playing a hide & seek game with my windows.
- mulgulCopper ContributorI cannot believe Microsoft did this, why to take away an option that is useful for so many?
- DPNIRCopper ContributorUpgraded, wish I had seen this first! Productivity dropped by at least 30% for me.

Add me to the list of users wanting "never combine" and words instead of icons in the tabs.
Having multiple word docs open for instance, easier to click straight into the one you desire when it's file name is displayed in tab bar then click on folders, scroll across until you find the right one.
- Bindows660Copper Contributorand yes this is windows 11 I am running with tweaks I made
- CougieBrass ContributorYes. Bring back never combine. It's sad that with every new versions of windows we need extra unnecessary 'clicks' do simple tasks.
Eg Setting default browser has gone from 1 click to 4-5 clicks. - mserdarCopper ContributorI want the never combine option

I'm having the same problem.... the lack of this option, it's unproductive and it's making me think go back to installing Windows 10
- hoangvu96zCopper ContributorPlease bring back never combine option.

Yes agree. Microsoft, bring back this 'never combine taskbar buttons' function pls
- sunil_bhatt995Copper ContributorI am surprised that Microsoft removed this functionality in Windows 11. I want to have the flexibility to “never combine” taskbar icons. I hope Microsoft fixes this “Bug” in their next update.
- Max5742Copper ContributorWhy do you do this kind of thing (removing popular option)? It's just dumb knowing that so many people use this feature and that there is absolutely no advantage to remove it.

Max5742 Microsoft wanted to make Windows 11 look beautiful. Perhaps, a bunch of similar icons makes Windows look ugly. And, MacOS doesn't have the option either and see how beautiful it looks with grouped icons.
And if you are concerned about productivity, you can read this article:

The marketing lingo will make you "feel more productive" while using Windows 11.
- Graham-STMCSteel ContributorMy first thought after seeing Windows 11 was how like the macOS it looks, and that disappoints me greatly, but I do find the centralised working with everything in front of you much easier than any other version of Windows. It is a shame that the combining task bar icons has been disabled, should this not be up to the user to decide?
