How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

Microsoft
Bring this back.
I did not update my win 10 personal computers because this option was not there and is not productive at all, for every window now I need 2 mouse clicks... that's a step back, bring the never combine back, please.- ChrisLuntCopper Contributor
This is killing me... how am I suppose to drag attachments from one application to another when hovering over the taskbar refuses to open the associated window?

This is just a wierd choice of UX. Very Apple-like, not very user friendly at all. MS, know your audience!
PS: The function of (windows-button + Tab) which brings up all my windows in an orderly fashion is the only thing keeping me from installing win 10 again, if that is at all possible. This is a lot less effective than just glancing at the taskbar that I did before to choose the right window, but it's better than nothing.

Microsoft, bring the "never combine taskbar buttons" option on Windows back. Removing that option, along with removing the drag-and-drop feature, were the worst decisions you guys could make. The Mac is already there, no need to be its cheap copy; just keep the few good things Windows used to have. Do not abandon customizability — not all of your users are dumb.
- WaseemAhmedCopper ContributorThere is no any option in windows 11 to never combine task bar, 😡
- Adi HafiskadicBrass ContributorHi team, would love to have the option to never combine taskbar buttons. Overall the new Windows 11 looks really nice, I have found the performance through Windows Explorer to be slower and not as responsive as Win10, even though my laptop is less than a year old. Hopefully all the minor bugs will be fixed up with updates to come.
- JardikCopper ContributorI can't really use system like that. I need separate task bar buttons with labels. When trying to help someone do something on his system and he has icons without labels and multiple windows in one button, I always have to say "nope, I can't use your system when configured like that". Seriously, as a programmer, I need to productive. I can't spend minutes trying to find out what icon is what application and if it is fifth or third window displayed in some popup list, where all windows look the same.
And when at it, can you please allow us to move each task bar button separately, not all instances or windows of one application at once? - kobraheathenCopper ContributorI also feel shackled and constrained by being forced to have my apps combined on the taskbar.

huali1405 Bill Gates......Why cancel such a feature?? please put it back in future updates
- MelaniTSteel ContributorI am pleased with the new Windows 11, but the lack of this feature was a huge disappointment... I don't want my PC to be like a Mac, nice but anti-productive, and I have always been a Microsoft supporter just because it is more practical.
I normally work with multiple instances of many programs, so currently I am using 3rd part apps just to restore my usual workflow, but please Microsoft: give it back to us heavy users as a standard option!- JoSoFineCopper ContributorPlease stop removing useful functions that made Windows easier to do some actual work in. I work oat an IT service desk and know for sure people need this option. The loose there mind when an icon changes colour, what do you think this will do to them
