How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- Jul 30, 2024The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

Another good news, this feature moved down from Dev to Beta channel of Windows insider

It's finally, FINALLY, here. I'm running 23H2 (OS Build 22631.2199) and have uncombined taskbar buttons with labels. It only took MS YEARS to bring back a feature that never should have been eliminated.

Wow! Is it an update we're all going to receive in the next days or still some insider dev beta prelaunch stuff?
- Richard DugganAug 22, 2023Brass ContributorI'm on the Windows Insider Program on the Beta channel and running the Home version of Windows 11 on this machine. I'm retired now, but worked in IT for 32 years, so I know what I'm doing. I'd prefer to be running Enterprise or at least Pro, but Home is what this MSI machine came with, and I haven't really found a reason to pay for an upgrade yet. If I was still working, though, there is no way I would have had any of our users on 11 without the ability to un-combine the taskbar buttons. That was a tragic decision on MS's part.

Only the annual feature update (fall 2023) can implement this feature in the Stable version of Windows11, so now it only works in the Insider versions.
Best regards.
