How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- Jul 30, 2024The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.
1. Please note - windows has given an option for combining several taskbar buttons as one since this windows 10 feature was removed temporarily from windows 11 pro till a huge number of customers have agreed with combing taskbar button and not those buttons which are separated.
2. if you really want to separate the taskbar buttons please use the following software -
A- Startallback - https://www.startallback.com/
[Official website]
Features of Startallback -
Restore and improve taskbar
- Show labels on task icons
- Adjust icon size and margins
- Move taskbar to top, left or right edges
- Drag and drop stuff onto taskbar
B - Stardock Start11 - https://www.stardock.com/products/start11/ [Official Website]
Features of Stardock Start 11 -
From the basics like returning the right-click menu on the taskbar to ungrouping of windows on the taskbar. You can also choose to have your icons centered on the taskbar with your Start menu left aligned.
In this image taskbar alignment does not have the option "Never combine Taskbar buttons" which you should mention to put it as an option for users for windows.
I have the option now through the dev channel. It works like windows 10 used to and despite being supposedly more unstable than the other releases, i didn't have any issues for the past month.

i have tried developer (DEV Channel) but it is more unstable than Beta Channel so i am sticking to beta channel.
But dev channel only works for two months or so then gets unstable but i am sticking with Beta channel which really really has minimum errors.i am happy you got the required settings and options you wanted but maybe if a lot of people suggest that option then only people will be able to make optional features for different versions fo windows and i hope it comes true which i also need anyways lets hope for the best.

This is an excerpt from the Insider Beta Blog - the latest version - explains that we are getting closer to the stable version of Windows11 :
"[Taskbar & System Tray]
The settings for never combined mode for the taskbar are showing up under Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors in this build however they currently do not enable the experience. This will be fixed in a future Beta Channel flight soon.
The ability to end task when right-clicking an app on the taskbar should be working correctly in this build and can be managed under Settings > System > For developers."https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2023/07/21/announcing-windows-11-insider-preview-build-22621-2050-and-22631-2050/
