How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- Jul 30, 2024The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

To MS: This is really bad. Strongly recommend rolling back to more Win10 functionality.
To Users: Don't go buy Win10 or put any money in their pockets. If this were a restaurant, an error like this would make me want to get up and leave without paying, not move to a table in the place that is less sticky.
At least it's an serious error to remove the OPTION, since obviously a lot of people hate it this way. Removing the simple but critical feature has reduced the taskbar to a Fisher Price preschool toy bin level of usefulness (I've got a bunch of shaped blocks forced into categories, and I have to dig into each group of blocks to find the one I want). Can't even simply move the taskbar where I WANT it anymore, either. The selling point of PC over Mac has been the ability to use your computer like an adult and customize it how you like it. Way to shoot yourself in the foot, Microsoft.

- Jim_T1405Mar 29, 2023Iron ContributorI totally agree with this post, but want to point out that NOT COMBINING taskbar buttons was NOT a feature. It was the default. The ability to combine the buttons is the "feature". Microsoft should have looked at their own data to see that power users DO NOT COMBINE.
