How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?

The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

I think these comments are best addressed to Microsoft rather than to the members of this tech support forum who came looking for the way to activate this pretty essential personalisation option, only to find that Windows11 has omitted it.

Explorer Patcher is its first suggestion and Open Shell is the second one. They are both free, I have both installed on my PC (day 1 of the installation) and I enjoy a Win7-like interface and a pure Win 10 taskbar functionality

I don't want any third part apps, one I tried breaks other features like right click on windows icon didn't work

knick95 I appreciate your hints, but what irritates me is that I have to noodle around to find work around when it is obviously something Microsoft can do. I'm retired now and am thinking I will just go to a Chrome OS if I have to purchase a new computer. Microsoft will lose my business, but it is their choice and I don't matter to them obviously.
