How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- Jul 30, 2024The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

I need three hthings so far that Windows 11 has taken away.
I need to be able to move the task bar to the right side of the screen.
I need to be able to not group windows in the task bar.
Finally, I need you to provide opt in to One Drive when someone gets a new Windows operating system. Now I've got to find and remove all those files you saved to the cloud, remove them, disable One Drive, and uninstall One Drive.
After that, I'm going to cancel my Microsoft account. I managed without having an account for over 20 years.

+1 to the dismayed user base here.
Fortunately I tried Win11 on a VM before installing it for real. The "Never Combine" option in the taskbar settings is the very FIRST setting I change on any new install. It's by far the most important setting to change in my opinion. Removing it is just short-sighted, anti-consumer stupidity. There are ways to get it back relatively easily, without having to use 3rd party apps but all of those methods would not be permitted in a commercial environment and it's highly likely MS will prevent them from working in future updates. They're VERY unlikely to restore the feature because that would be admitting they've made an error in judgement and there's no way they're going to do that. Think back to Windows 8, did we ever get the "Up one folder" button on explorer restored? No, we had to wait for Windows 10 to get it back. Microsoft's ego will just make them vehemently defend their decision ad infinitum. We may get it restored in Windows 12, but until then guys, seriously, don't hold your breath.
