How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- Jul 30, 2024The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

As an MSP employee, I regularly have multiple portals going and switching between them using a mouse is sometimes the quickest, most accurate option. In Win11, it adds complexity (and time) to use hover-to-preview to select the correct window.
In Win10 (and 2019, 2016, 8.1, 2012R2, 8.0, 2012...) I used "never combine".
Can you come up with a better option for me to use in Win11 or bring back "never combine"?
Happy to learn a new trick - keyboard, preferably - perhaps "while in Edge, use Ctrl-Alt-[TAB] to switch between only Edge windows"?
I dunno - you're the UI guys. I'm not the GUI guy.
