How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- Jul 30, 2024The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

Several months on and this simple but crucial feature hasn't been put back yet. What are Microsoft thinking?!
I wonder if they know Windows 11 is used on actual computers - not phones? I have a phone to behave like a phone. I need my computer to behave like a computer. I'm going back to Windows 10 to get desktop functionality back. Taskbar icons, start menu tiles, drag/drop... Why was any of this ever taken away from a desktop operating system? I can't see the take-up by business users being great until MS have a proper word with themselves.

madu01 the forced combination of taskbar buttons has so upset me that i created my account here just so i could add to the comments to bring back ungroup - and faster than this summer please. i too tried to use the new system for a month but it just isn't working -for all the reasons stated by others. MS must beta test this among thousands of its employees, what did they say or did they get overruled? I would try ExplorerPatcher but can't satisfy myself that it doesn't' have embedded malware, just because i don't know how. so, I'm about to start reading up on reverting to Win 10.
