How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- Jul 30, 2024The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.
Come on Microsoft, that is so unproductive.
Due to job assignments I have many windows opened, how come I can handle all of them ?
I switch back and forth trying to find the correct session, that was a disaster.
Bring back never combine option.
I guess nobody can be bothered to read the thread they joined.
- rcpatnamDec 20, 2021Copper ContributorThat's because there is no native solution. Windows 11 is nascent. You can see feedback prompts a lot many times. This specific feature might or might not come. The solution is either a workaround, wait or adapt. Windows 10 is still pretty good is many aspects, regardless.

I completely agree with the sentiments around this needing to be a native feature. It feels like they rushed Windows 11 out, and defeatured a lot of things. This lack of being able to see everything I am working on is very frustrating. The reason I use Windows is the ability to control how things are set up vs someone else deciding how I should use things.
- gorthanDec 20, 2021Copper Contributorhence why we are providing our feedback "strongly"

tlhintoq it seems you didn't bother reading the fact that we think Explorer Patcher is utter GARBAGE and we don't want to install that piece of $£&! on our system
- tlhintoqDec 20, 2021Iron ContributorFormat your PC and install LINUX then.
Go buy a Mac.
But how about you not be an arse to others. We're all trying to help each other with solutions and band-aides until it gets resolved proper.
I get that you'd rather have a Mercedes, but even a Ford is better than walking.
And seeing as it is open source maybe you could offer some fixes to the aspects you don't like rather than just insult the person/people that have offered it to the community for free.
We really need to present as professionals if we want MS to take the complaints seriously. - knick95Dec 20, 2021Iron ContributorOK, guys, I stick with Explorer patcher, and until (and IF) MS fixes the problem I will work with a fully functional taskbar with the "never combine" feature activated. You can continue crying and begging for MS to solve this. I wish you good rollbacks to Win 10.
