How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- Jul 30, 2024The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

This is the first thing I look for after every update and I'm always disappointed that it's not there. It was the first thing I looked for when I installed Win 11 initially. I spend at least an hour after installing looking for a temporary fix, something I could manually change in the registry to no avail. I probably spend at least a half hour each month looking for some new information but only finding the same feedback hub threads with nothing new from Microsoft.
It sounds like after months of complaining and begging Microsoft to bring this back, some folks have found a tool that kinda does the job, but that's not the point here. This was an important feature that many have complained about loosing and not once have I seen a response from Microsoft addressing the issue. Function over form. Windows customers aren't windows customers because they can't afford Apple, they don't like Apple. Don't be Apple.
