Increasing the resolution of an image on Windows 11 or 10 can be done in several ways, depending on the result you want. You can use built-in tools for simple resizing, try Microsoft's new AI feature for smart enhancement, or use third-party software for more advanced control.
The simplest way to change an image's size is with the apps already on your computer. It's important to note that these methods do not add new details; they simply stretch the existing pixels. This can make the image look blurry or pixelated if you enlarge it too much.
Increase Image Solution Using Microsoft Photos App:
- Right-click on your image file and select Open with > Photos.
- Click the "..." (See more) button in the top-right corner and select Resize image.
- Choose one of the preset sizes (e.g., Small, Medium) or click "Define custom dimensions" to enter your own.
- Choose the save options and save your new image.
Increase Image solution Using Microsoft Paint:
- Right-click on your image file and select Open with > Paint.
- On the toolbar, click the Resize button.
- You can resize by Percentage or Pixels. Check the "Maintain aspect ratio" box to avoid distorting the image.
- Enter your new values and click OK. Save the file.
