How to get around Bitlocker without a key ?

Question

One of our new Lenovo laptops went through a regular update, upon restart it asked for the recovery key. We used the email associated with Microsoft but it doesn't show our laptop.

Never seen this before, and we don't have a recovery key. Do we need to reinstall Windows or is there a workaround?

You need to format the drive. And there is no way to bypass bitlocker encryption.

If multiple users have access to the laptop, check if the recovery key might be tied to another Microsoft account. Sometimes it gets saved under a different user account.
