How do I revoke software access permissions in the Windows operating system?
I accidentally granted system access permissions to a software application. How do I revoke these permissions?

Using Windows Security (Defender) Firewall. This is the most effective and common way to control which programs can access the network (internet or your local network). It does not block access to your local files.
- Press Win + S and type Windows Security and open it.
- Go to Firewall & network protection.
- Click on Advanced settings at the bottom. This opens the classic Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security window.
- In the left pane, click on Outbound Rules.
- In the right pane, click on New Rule....
- Select Program and click Next.
- Browse to and select the .exe file of the program you want to block (e.g., C:\Program Files\SomeApp\someapp.exe). Click Next.
- Select Block the connection. Click Next.
- Ensure all three profiles (Domain, Private, Public) are checked. Click Next.
- Give the rule a name (e.g., "Block SomeApp Internet Access"). Click Finish.
