How do I hide the tray icon in the Windows taskbar?

I use a Dock-style taskbar, and the tray icons on it look a bit messy. Is there any way to hide or clean them up?

    Some docks have an option to hide the entire system tray or specific icons:

    ObjectDock: Right-click on the tray area, select Customize, and hide icons.
    RocketDock: Usually, it doesn't show system tray icons by default, but if it does, check settings.
