How Do I Get Out of the Windows Insider Program?
I enrolled in this to get the latest 25H2 build but it put me on the "Dev Channel" by default. Now I want to get out of it (unenroll) however it says I have to reinstall Windows 11 to do this. There must be a better way. I don't want to compromise my stability of my system. I can't switch out of the dev channel. All the other options are greyed out. See screenshot attached.
What am I supposed to do? I am lost on what the process is as it now downloading some Dev version and I don't want it but I can't stop it from downloading.
I haven't installed this version at all , it's just trying to download it and I have paused any updates for 7 days. I can't even remove my email address from the Windows Insider Account. there is no "remove" option.
Leave the Windows Insider Program I removed my email address from here this is what it now says:
Leave the Windows Insider Program
Windows Insiders help shape the future of Windows, and your participation is important to us. But if you're sure you'd like to stop getting emails and Windows Insider Preview Builds from us, you can unregister and leave the program. If you'd just like to stop getting Insider Preview builds, you can also unenroll your device, but stay registered to keep getting email updates from us.
Note: If you're receiving Insider Preview builds on a device managed by your organization, you'll still get preview builds until your organization changes your device's settings.

Since the option to switch is greyed out, you might try changing your ring to a more stable one:
- Open Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program
- If the "Choose your Insider settings" or "Ring" options are greyed out, proceed to the next steps.
