Old-school Karadke-making techniques can be used to remove vocals from a song on Windows PC by leveraging stereo phase cancellation, but the effectiveness depends on the song’s mixing. It’s a low-cost, DIY method suitable for experimenting with basic vocal removal.
How:
1. In Audaccity, duplicate your stereo track
2. On second track: Effect → Invert
3. Set Pan first track to Left (100%), second to Right (100%)
4. Change Track Dropdown to "Mono" on both
5. Export and compare with original - often catches different frequencies
Important considerations:
- Effectiveness varies: This old-school technique works best with songs where vocals are mixed equally into both channels. It might not fully remove vocals from songs, especially if vocals are panned or processed differently.
- Audio quality: The result can sometimes introduce artifacts or reduce overall audio quality.
- Limitations: It’s a somewhat crude method compared to modern AI-based tools, but it’s free and straightforward to try.
