Downgrading from iOS 18 to iOS 17 on a Windows PC can be a mixed bag. Apple has this annoying rule where they only “sign” newer firmware versions for a limited time. If iOS 17 isn’t being signed anymore, you can’t install it. So, if you’ve waited a while after iOS 18 dropped, you might be out of luck, and this can be pretty frustrating.
If things go wrong during the downgrade process, you can end up with a device that won’t boot up—what we call “bricking.” This can be a nightmare, especially if you depend on your phone for everything.
