Holaway Microsoft has an add-in called HEIC Image Extension, which you can download from Microsoft. Once it is installed on Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC, then you can view the HEIC images and convert them to JPG or JPEG since then.
- Locate the HEIC file you want to convert in File Explorer and double-click on it. It should now open in the Photos app or another default image viewer that supports HEIC.
- If the image opens in the Photos app, click on the "..." (three dots) in the upper right corner and select Save As.
- In the "Save As" dialog, choose JPG from the file type dropdown, and select the location where you want to save the converted image.
- Click Save to convert and store the image as a JPG.
This will convert the HEIC file to JPG on any Windows PC using the HEIF Image Extension.

$0.99 and 30 minutes later...appears this strips all date (and other EXIF?) information from the original.
