Help with notifications in outlook

In the new outlook pre app that replaces windows mail I am unable to set the desktop notifications to inbox. It is stuck on the favourite people option and will not let me switch it to my inbox. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Steps I have done already:

1 - restarted pc

2 - reset app

3 - switched back to mail app then re added the outlook pre app

4 - imported settings from web version through the outlook pre app

5 - turned off notifications and put them back on

Theses steps did not work for me.
