File explorer "see more" tab always opens upwards 24H2
It sounds like you're encountering a frustrating issue with the "See more" options in File Explorer, specifically with how the menu opens upward instead of downwards. This can definitely be annoying, especially when it obscures the options you want to see.

There is an easy way to fix the bug, by disabling that useless feature ID 51960011 that MS enabled by default on all 24H2 builds. It was reported several times to Microsoft, but they just seem to ignore the FBH reports. 🤷♂️
The problem happens when the Display Scale settings is 125%, 150%, 175% etc.
Does not fail with Scale of 100%, 200%, 300%.

New laptops have higher resolutions, unfortunately this results in a tiny taskbar and tiny fonts. I have two of these PCs and I actually set their resolution to 150% to have a normal-sized taskbar. And it is on these two PCs that I have or had this problem. Thanks by the way for the problematic ID number, it is thanks to you that I was finally able to resolve this calamity. :-)

Finally fixed on Canary Build 27823.1000 on March 26, 2025.
I hope they propagate the fix to public build too, they had this bug for about 5 months. 🤣😵💫😝🤬🤷♂️

There is a tool called vivetool that allows disabling or enabling those MS experimental features.
You can search the web for information on how to get that vivetool and how to use it.
The admin command for this specific case will be
vivetool /disable /id:51960011
Then reboot and check again.
As you can see here from the /query option, Microsoft enabled it in the ImageDefault.
That is the experimental feature that added the bug. 😝🤬🤷♂️
Disabling it eliminates the problem. 😉 At least until Microsoft screws up again. 🤣🤣🤣
