Does WoW work with a VPN?

I recently installed a VPN for security and I’m trying to play WoW on Windows computer, and some decidedly weird things are happening.

I was just wondering if this is normal, or what are some experiences from others?

    You can use a VPN to play WoW, but you have to make sure that the UDP port is open, but it may become laggy, so it's best to choose a specialized game acceleration node.
