Custom mouse cursor broken after Insider beta build 26220.9223

I recently updated to Windows 11 Insider Beta build 26220.9223, and ever since then, my custom mouse cursor has been acting up. Only the default pointer is affected—the rest of the custom cursor set works fine, but the main pointer keeps reverting to the ugly basic one and won't change no matter what I do.

I've already tried reapplying the cursor, resetting it to default and back, restarting the system, all the obvious stuff. Nothing sticks. Running Windows 11 Home 25H2 on an ASUS Vivobook 15 with a Ryzen 5 7430U.

Anyone else running into this or know a fix?

This looks like a regression affecting the Normal Select pointer after build 26220.9223, because the other roles in your custom scheme still load. Open Settings, choose Bluetooth and devices, Mouse, Additional mouse settings, then Pointers. Select Normal Select, choose Browse, and select the cursor again. Save the result under a new scheme name. If the file is in Downloads or another user folder, copy it into the Windows Cursors folder first. Test a built-in scheme, then your custom scheme in a new local profile; this separates a damaged scheme from a build-wide problem. Install the newest Beta Channel update if offered. If the behavior began with this flight, submit a Feedback Hub report with a recording and cursor-file details. Use System &gt; Recovery &gt; Go back only if the option remains available, and remember that rolling back keeps personal files but removes apps, drivers, and settings added after the build.
