1. Quick self-test steps
Check basic settings
Right-click Desktop > Show Settings
Confirm:
Resolution Set to recommended value
HDR switch status (adjusted according to monitor support)
Night Mode Whether it is turned on by mistake
Update Graphics Card Driver
Device Manager > Display Adapter
Right-click on the graphics card > Update Driver > Auto Search
2. Common Color Problem Fixes
Grayish/dark colors
Settings > System > Display > Color
Turn off “Manage Colors Automatically”
Manually adjust color profile (try sRGB)
Color bias (red/green/blue anomalies)
Graphics card control panel adjustment:
NVIDIA: Desktop right click > NVIDIA Control Panel > Adjust Desktop Color Settings
aMD: Radeon Settings > Display > Color
Intel: Graphics Card Control Center > Color Enhancement
HDR Color Distortion
Settings > System > Display > HDR
Turn off “Auto HDR”
Run the HDR Calibration Tool (Microsoft Store download)
3. Advanced Repair Options
Reset color profiles
Delete the old profiles:
Control Panel > Color Management > Delete All ICC Profiles
Reinstall the monitor driver:
Device Manager > Monitor > Uninstall Device (check “Remove Driver”) > Reboot
Registry Repair (use with caution)
Press Win + R and type regedit
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ICM
Delete the “Calibration” sub-section (automatically rebuilds the default configuration)
4. Hardware Troubleshooting
Test the external monitor
If the external display is normal → Notebook screen or cable failure
Check the cable
DP/HDMI cable replacement test (poor quality cable may cause color deviation)
5. Ultimate solution
System restore to the color normal date
Reinstall the system (keep the file)
Contact the manufacturer (screen hardware problems require professional repair)
