Clicking the built-in search in Windows 11 causes CPU throttling and lag.
When running Windows 11 on AMD processor devices, clicking the built-in system search box immediately causes lag, while the CPU frequency plummets from over 3GHz to 0.5GHz. Normal operation resumes after closing the search. Common background processes have been ruled out. Seeking the root cause and a solution.

Sometimes the Windows Search feature or Cortana can cause high CPU usage or lag, especially if the index is corrupted or stuck.
